This July 1st is the 150th anniversary of confederation in Canada and there’s no better place to celebrate than in Niagara Falls, home to one of the country’s most beautiful natural wonders. Canada 150th celebrations are happening in the city and all around the country throughout the year, but on Canada Day you can expect to experience a number of special events, shows, and activities for the country’s official birthday. Check out any of these Canada Day events in Niagara Falls to get into the patriotic spirit and celebrate Canada’s sesquicentennial in style.

Fireworks Show and Illumination

This summer, you can experience a spectacular fireworks show over the American, Bridal Veil, and Horseshoe Falls every weeknight at 10pm, with special shows on the July 1st and 2nd weekend in honour of Canada Day. The Falls are also brightly illuminated in coloured lights every night at 9pm-12am from now until August 13th. The fireworks and illumination make for a spectacular nighttime experience in Niagara Falls and are a must-see for visitors staying in the city on Canada Day.

Parade and Downtown Activities

Niagara Falls’ annual Canada Day celebration draws thousands of visitors to the region every year and features an exciting parade and family-friendly activities in the heart of the city. This year’s Canada Day parade will be bigger and better than ever with marching bands, giant inflatables, floats, jugglers, dancers, and more. And afterwards, you can enjoy an awesome street part along Queen Street where you’ll find free birthday cake at City Hall, food vendors, buskers, free children’s entertainment, car show, art show, children’s inflatables, and live music from local musicians all afternoon.

Coca Cola Concert Series

Kicking off on July 1st and 2nd, the city’s annual Coca Cola Concert Series in Queen Victoria Park runs Monday through Friday until August 31st and brings a number of local musicians to the stage for free concerts all summer. These great shows will be followed by a fireworks show over the Falls and are a great place to find lively entertainment for people of all ages.

Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show

The Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show in Niagara Falls is an exciting all-Canadian performance featuring singing Mounties, Anne of Green Gables, lumberjacks, hockey players, and a tribute to famous Canadian recording artists like Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Paul Anka, the Barenaked Ladies and more. And during the show, you’ll enjoy a delicious a family style meal featuring dishes like BBQ ribs, PEI potatoes, and maple chocolate cake for dessert.
